I have a 96 firebird. The guy I bought it from broke half the key in the ignition as he was selling it to me. So half the key is in there but it wont start unless the other half is inserted too. I also have a battery that dies if I dont run the car for a few days. Is the key problem the most likely thing? The alt is fairly new and has good readings and the battery has good readings too. Nothing lights up on the car at all and it will beep warning me the key is in the ignition but once the door is closed it stops. Im just curious if GMs design causes it to die from just having the key in it at all. Thank you :)
