Vampire babies

My fascination with the topic of vampires having started where all things should, watching twilight. Bella has a kid with Edward who's a vampire. Last time I checked he was dead. The basics of reproduction require blood flow and a heartbeat among other things. I don't know if it's explained in the books, I've never bothered to check.I saw this happen again in The Originals. Klaus fathers a kid but the excuse there is that he's half werewolf so he's not fully dead? I can't remember. Another time I can remember seeing this was in the movie Van Helsing. Dracula has their bat baby things with his three wives. Can't remember how that worked but it was cool, and I think die at the end anyways.My point being is I want to watch more stuff with vampires defying biology and I also want to know your thoughts on the subject. I think it's pretty to see on tv and how they explain away how it's even possible.
