Hate not finding an apartment, despising ppl subletting for the summer or only want to swap apartments!!!!!!

I just want to move out of my parents house, I think that’s reasonable thing to want as a 28-year-old! I am getting tired of it being so difficult to find a reasonably priced apartment in my city.I hate when people say that the rent in my city is so cheap compared to other bigger cities in my country. First of all the pay is lower in my city and also the landlords are all crooked, There have been recent incidences where landlords raised the price of the apartment because people are willing to pay more. That’s technically illegal here. They did a survey and it said that despite people leaving the city to live in the suburbs due to the pandemic, the price of rent is still going up even tho there’s more vacancy.To make it worse The only apartments I’m finding are either people who are subletting for the summer or only want to swap their apartments for another. I despise these people! Their apartment happen to be the most reasonably priced. The other apartments I am finding are all tiny studios for about $1000 a month which is expensive here or run down apartments for about $1200. I just so frustrated! I just want an apartment that’s next to a metro and isn’t falling apart.
