I've got a 1990 Toyota pickup 22RE motor that took a dump on me this weekend. It was late Saturday night and I had the tow truck drop it off at a shop accepting overnight drop offs. I've been here roughly a month and I'm only here short term for a trade school. I was told my fuel pump failed and that my fuel pressure regulator & fuel pump should be replaced. This was quoted at $1900. I pulled up the parts, even if that's split 50/50 parts/labor, nothing is even coming close to $800 in parts. The sooner I can get it towed to a better mechanic the better, as I'm renting a car currently. Again, looking for a FAIR Denton mechanic or an older toyota / 22RE pickup specialist. This just doesn't add up and I need it towed out of there (and to a new destination) asap.Thank you!
