Okay so last week I was doing my regular rounds when I got a request for an Uber eats order 11 mins away. This was already unusual because I live in a small city and normally the average drive time is between 1-5 minutes to get to the restaurant or rider unless it’s out in the outskirts of town but this is a restaurant on a main road in the city.So I drive my 11 mins to get there, and after entering and giving him the order number he says no problem it’ll be a few minutes so I’m waiting for the order and when the order comes he says “wait, where is your Uber bag” and I answered “I don’t have one, it’s not mandatory and I’m usually just doing rides instead” after this he says “well if you don’t have a bag I’m not giving you the order”We went back and fourth a bit while I was attempting to explain that I’m the assigned driver, showing him my phone, telling him it’s not mandatory and he can’t just switch the Uber rules as he pleases and have drivers coming here wasting 10-40 minutes of their night driving to the restaurant, waiting for the order and then driving back to where they were before. He eventually just said to get the hell out of the restaurant because he’s not giving me the order and said they were cancelling their Uber service because of issues like this. So I made a report to Uber support and they basically shrugged it off saying there’s nothing we can do now but I’ll send a report to our quality assurance team or whatever.I shrugged it off and thought nothing would happen again until tonight, when I get another order from this same restaurant. This time of course I did not accept the order. I went in and confronted the owner again about how he said they’re cancelling their Uber service but never did, and that they’re having drivers come across town because no one wants to accept their orders and wasting their time and turning drivers away. He threatened to call the police because I wasn’t on an active order and wasn’t a customer so I left no problem. Try to make another report to Uber support but what is that going to do? They’ve done this to multiple drivers including myself and continue to take orders and pick and chose who they give them to.There are two problems occurring here, one is that drivers are losing money and gas driving to this restaurant to get turned away, and two the customers are waiting extra long to get their food because they might have 3 drivers show up until someone has an Uber bag with them.Restaurant name: Pisanos Old School. Kingston, Ontario, Canada. What can I do about this issue and who can I really talk to at Uber that will help with this situation?
