Hi internet,I'm currently in the process of getting ready to move to Japan in late November to work for an Eikaiwa school. I had assumed the move wouldn't be until next year but with the new travel ban allowances everything is suddenly moving very quickly. I applied for my COE 3 weeks ago, they've just told me that I probably shouldn't expect to receive my COE until about 3 weeks before my departure. Now seeing as it will probably take a couple weeks or more to process my visa this doesn't really allow for a lot of leeway. I'm also in Australia where with COVID we have to start an application to apply for a travel allowance to LEAVE Australia AS WELL as enter Japan. This also takes time. I'm really starting to stress out as I'll need to give my current job a month's notice to quit before leaving, if the start dates are pushed out due to visa processing time this could really land me in trouble. What is your experience moving to work for an Eikawa? Is it normal for these dates to be cutting it this close? Were your start dates pushed out due to visa processing time or any other factors? Do you have any tips for a very stressed out future teacher?
