[Discussion] How to detach from villagers??

I’d like to have other villagers on my island, but I got so attached to the ones I have that it’s hard to let them go. Does anyone else feel this way about their villagers? How’d you finally come to terms with letting one of them go? Why do I get so attached to villagers? They’re not even real!
