How do you guys armor swap? (PC)

Im a decent player, But whenever i try armor swap i fuck it up and end up dying, Can anyone who does it efficiently run me through what you do?​Like i know its straight forward but i must be missing something if it constantly gets me killed.​Is it just death box armor swap then tab?
