Use of formal logic in economic thought

"Mainstream" econ student (2nd year) here. My education follows the models of the New Neoclassical Synthesis, but I do dabble in Austrian readings from time to time. For putting a strong emphasis on rationally developed theory, I've noticed that few if any Austrian research uses formalized mathematical logic or proofs, something which is now very standard in mainstream (micro)economic work.Is there a reason this hasn't caught on? Would you like to see it integrated into more Austrian work?
