Hi, Hoping someone can share some insight - We just brought in a new 100x100 direct internet access fiber connection at our main location, which is working great. We also worked with the same ISP to provide a dedicated point-to-point connection to our second location, which is about 15 miles away. The main ISP is a large provider with a good reputation but unfortunately the second location is outside of their coverage area. To resolve this, the ISP is handing off to Verizon, who is completing the point to point.The PTP we are paying for is supposed to be 50x50 Mbps. The ISPs both finished their installations and testing, so we went ahead and connected our firewalls to each end after hours. The speeds we very slow. We were testing by performing a large file copy of about 1 GB. The copy was taking over 30 minutes to complete.To further test, we disconnected our firewalls and plugged a laptop into each end of the PTP connection (one at each site). We set up a static IP on each and could communicate without issue. However, file speeds were still very slow during the same file copy as above.Next, we installed iPerf on each laptop, and tested the connection with each end taking a turn as the "server" and then as the "client". both tests resulted in a max speed of 23 Mbps. This is without going through any firewalls, routers, etc. Just two laptops plugged directly into the ISP equipment.We had the first ISP on site again today, who claims that their "half" of the PTP is clean. Unfortunately, I have to go through them to communicate with Verizon, which is proving to be difficult.Am I correct in my thinking that the iPerf tests should be much closer to the 50 Mbps speed we are paying for? Especially when there is literally nothing else using the connection. below are the iPerf results.Thanks in advance.
