Guns that don't use gunpowder

My world takes place about 150 years in the future. Most weapons use modern powder propellant or solid propellant, like on caseless ammunition. What are some other, more 'futuristic' ways of propelling bullets? Railguns do exist in my world but they are usually used as ship-mounted weapons or cannons, aside from a few large prototype railgun sniper rifles.
