Anyone out there have a successful career change without actually knowing what you'd like to do?

I am going cut to the chase because we've all heard the teachers cry... I do not want to remain a teacher nor do I really want to continue in education. I don't do a good job of balancing a home life and work life with this career and I have used multiple approaches to find a solution to this problem. I spent the summer in a travel gig and had so many people beg for me to return to education, so I did... I literally escaped...and returned.Needless to say I need help/guidance in a new direction of finding a career for myself. I am creative, empathetic (to a fault), and passionate for so many things I can't even put my thumb on it...Has anyone left their career for a new one without having any idea the type of career they'd succeed in... let alone enjoy?
