What do you do when your training falls apart?


I'm 3 weeks from Chicago and my training has gone off the rails a bit. I was averaging 48-53mpw consistently then a huge project started at work and meant I was unable to run for a week. I got back into it with two weeks of normal mileage but yesterday I had to cut my long run short because of pain that got worse the more I ran. Now I'm starting the week that was supposed to be my peak mileage before a 2 week taper with an injury. I've also put on 3kg due to being a bit loose with diet in vacation last week. All in all, it feels like a bad place to be 3 weeks from my first marathon. Has anyone else been there? Any suggestions how to make the best of the next few weeks? Thanks
