I’d like to apologize in advance for asking for advice for something so small, but I am actually very annoyed with this situation and I would hope this does not happen to anybody else.I use the bird app to travel to school everyday and I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now. The app advertises the payment as 1$ to startup and .15 cents a minute. As I’ve been using it I’ve noticed I am getting very high charges and I looked everywhere but couldn’t figure out why I was being charged so much. When I click the “unlock” button to use the scooter it advertises the bird as 15 cents a minute with a 1$ unlock fee. However I finally got annoyed to the point where I called and the support agent told me that my city charges me over 30 cents a minute! This whole time there was not a single piece of information that I’ve been getting charged this amount! I have over 20 rides ranging from 3-5$ each ride! The support agent told me to update the app in order for the app to show me that I’m being charged the right amount. Now I am not sure how far back in the update I am on, but it should be the company’s obligation to advertise the correct amount, and not on me to update my app, since the app is still usable with my current update. The support agent decided to give me 1 free ride, which does not even amount to how much I’ve been over charged.I have not used the app since I have found out this information, and I’m not one to peruse a law suit or anything, but I am sure this has happened to many people others. What can I do now?
