Native desktop software UI design - Mac or Windows workstation?

Hi guys, I'm starting a new job as the only UX/UI designer for a software company and I have a bit of a dilemma. They are working on a multi-platform native desktop application; most users are using Windows, followed by Mac OS and Linux. I am torn between picking a Windows or a Mac machine (plus Adobe XD) as my main design workstation, and I would welcome your opinion. While working on a Windows machine would make it easier to consider all the UI paradigms for the most used platform, it would lock me out from testing and validating anything Mac. I am therefore inclined to suggest to get a Mac and pair it with a virtualization software like Parallels or Fusion in order to be able to run, work, design and validate all the available platforms side by side.Any feedback or advice? Thanks!
