Improving scar tissue strength and reducing scar pain

My information:28Male170 pounds6’0AsianYears of dull discomfort following removal of pilonidal cystUpper gluteNo existing medical issues, and no allergiesI had a pilonidal cyst/abscess removed three years ago and I still experience soreness in the area. This usually happens if I sit in the wrong position or sit for long periods of time. It makes long commutes in a car or plane very uncomfortable as I cannot sit. It has taken a huge toll on my quality of life. I also work a desk job which does not help at all.I was wondering if anybody has advice as to how I should approach my problem. Will working out my glute muscles and building more muscle around the scar tissue help at all? Can I reduce the amount of scar tissue using any type of treatments (laser)? There has to be a way to improve the general comfort in that area. I’m only 28 and I don’t want to have deal with this for the rest of my life.Thank you
