What if characters gained wounds/ clothing damage in battle?

I totally understand the significance of having certain iconic costume damage being built in (first time super saiyan goku with the damaged gi, shirt and pants) but I still think it would be cool to have battle damage a character's clothes and leave wounds. It would add that much more to the victory screen on a battle that wasn't easy to win. Just a thought
