Is it stupid to hop from XDJ-R1 to DDJ-400?

Hey fellow DJ's. I'm currently rocking with XDJ-R1 and it's a good controller but old one already. I've been mixing for about 6 months now (on and off) and the thing that's starting to annoy me as I am getting better is the slowness of R1. Also making more variable mixes with R1 is impossible because of this. With faster loading times I could potentially mix mashup's in between drops. I'm in the middle of thinking to sell it. I would really love to buy DDJ-1000 but I don't have the dosh for it at the moment so I have been thinking of DDJ-400. Also DDJ-1000 could be a bit of a overkill for a bedroom only DJ (?).I mostly mix at home (bedroom DJ stuff / home parties). I am OK with bringing my laptop so I don't mind if I lose the "all in one" features. The main reason i'm thinking of getting a faster controller are few upcoming parties where I need to DJ.The question is: Is it stupid to buy DDJ-400 now when it is rumored that a controller between DDJ-400 and DDJ-1000 is coming in few months. Also is it stupid to buy a "beginner level" controller at this moment when I could maybe do some more advanced stuff on 4-channel mixer? My budget at the moment is 300€/$350/265£ but I will have more money later if DDJ-800(?) comes out. I use recordbox DJ, like it and haven't tried other brands. What do you guys think? Really appreciate your opinions on this!
